Week (and a half) in WoW - 01/14/2014 to 01/24/2014

Say hi to Deamhain!
Well, it's been a while since I last posted, and a lot has transpired!

I left you with the conclusion to the 3 Special Steps series and my main character grinding on the Timeless Isle in order to get up to raiding level. First, I believe introductions are in order! This is Deamhain, my new Undead Warlock, the character all of you helped me to create! His name is a variation on the Gaelic spelling for Demon, in case you're curious!

I spent a couple of hours leveling him up to level 10. I stopped there to do some research on which spec to choose. At this point, I'm leaning towards Demonology, but all three specs look like fun to play!

Another huge change to my WoW experience has come in the form of my birthday gift from my mom, a new computer. It is AMAZING what a difference it has made in the quality of the graphics and the reduction in lag - I don't know how I played for so long on my old computer (purchased in 2007, early Windows Vista!).

This change prompted me to get my butt in gear with my main character, where I spent most of my time since I last updated my blog!

Three Special Steps Conclusion!

Demons, green fire, and big deeps!
The people have spoken and they have decided that my next character will be an Undead Warlock!

I want to thank everybody that took the time to vote in my polls, leave comments on posts, and talk to me on Twitter to voice their opinion! This was a lot of fun for me and I'm looking forward to creating my brand new character!

We were actually tied between Undead Hunter and Undead Warlock, so I want to thank @fmlzombies, @casco33, and @clockwork_bells for chiming in on Twitter and breaking the tie!
I really wanted to make a bigger deal out of this, but my week has been crazy busy! I apologize for not putting out more content for you! A computer process blew up in my face at work, resulting in me spending 3 days instead of 2 hours to get information pumped into the software I use. Plus, I celebrated my 31st birthday!

One of my gifts was a computer from my mom that she no longer needed (she has 2). It's much newer than my computer, so I'm hoping it will improve my WoW performance! It's still in the box - I can't wait to get it hooked up and get WoW installed!

Again, thank you for helping me decide on my next character! I'll spend some time soon making and playing my new Undead Warlock. Who knows, I might need your help deciding on talent spec, professions, and other game choices!

Week in WoW - 01/07/2014 to 01/13/2014

This will go down as one of my most memorable WoW weeks. I finally hit level 90 and now have a max level character!

Since I hit level 90, I've been working on a small checklist and trying to cross items off of it. I made it through Kun Lai and into the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and trained my riding so I can now fly in Pandaria. I started the legendary quest chain and the Timeless Isle quest chain.

Now that I can finally fly in Pandaria, I took the ability away by going to the Timeless Isle. The majority of my time since hitting 90 has been spent there, killing rares, opening chests, and gearing up.

I'm close to all epic gear now, with an average item level of 464. I still need a timeless helm and ring and have been farming coins to buy the shield and trinkets from the vendors on the isle. I bought the mace with my first 10,000 timeless coins. I've also been gemming and enchanting gear, which I haven't done in quite a while!

It's amazing what a difference decent gear has made in my survivability. I'm getting close to my hit cap and Revenge has been proccing like crazy with Greater Ox Horn Inscription and River's Song. I've gone from dying all the time on the isle to only dying when I run into too many elites or when I try to take a rare down by myself (I've gotten two of the easier ones!).

I still need to get some of the difficult to reach chests, which I'm hoping will give me enough coins and armor tokens to get fully geared out. Once I have enough purples, my plan is to take a break from progressing my character to solo some vanilla and Burning Crusade dungeons and/or raids before starting to raid current content.

We're getting close to selecting my next character, too! We've selected the faction and race and the poll is open to determine the class! So far, it looks like I'm going to roll an Undead Hunter, but if you want me to play a different class, vote! The poll is up on the right side of the site.

If you're on mobile and can't see it, leave a comment, send me an email, or let me know on Twitter @morfanai! As always, thanks for reading and let me know if you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns!

The Third Special Step

It's time for me to become Undead!
Welcome back to the next installment of my column where YOU help me to choose my next character!

In step 1, you decided that I should play a Horde character. In step 2, we narrowed it down to an Undead character. So, now I need your help again to determine what class my new Undead character is going to be!

As with the previous steps, I'll have a poll open. Vote for your favorite! Also, as with previous steps, I'll go through the options and describe my feelings towards the different options. Read them if you want to or just pick your favorite!

FINALLY!

7 years later, I have a max level character!
No epic story, really. I was questing in Kun Lai, knew I was getting close, and checked my XP bar every few kills. Then I found a rare mob, spent a long fight taking him down, and totally forgot about checking my XP.

The very next mob I killed was a quest target, as you can see above, and when he went down stuff started flashing on my screen! I started pressing Print Screen repeatedly and managed to get the achievement box, but unfortunately didn't get the sparkly flashes!

Week in WoW - 12/31/2013 to 01/06/2014

Welcome back to another installment of my week in WoW!

Yup, Santa's warmer than we are!
It's been a fairly quiet week, what with Snowmaggedon hitting us over the weekend! I've spent more time shoveling snow, scraping my car off and nearly getting frostbite than I like to think about over the past few days! Here in Midland, MI, we've received nearly 20 inches of snow and the base temperature is -2 F with a wind chill of -25 to -40 F! For you logical metric system users, that is a base temp of nearly -19 C with a windchill of -31 to -40 C with half a meter of snow!

(And yes, I had a little help from my good friend, Google, on the conversions.)

In addition to being trapped in Northrend over the weekend, step 1 of my project to have YOU decide on my next WoW character is completed and step 2 is nearly done, barring any ties! In case you don't recall, you decided that my next character is going to be a member of the Horde (step 1). There is a poll open on the right side of the page to determine the race (step 2). Again, a big thank you to everyone who has participated in this project!

Though the weather got in the way a little bit, I did manage to complete one goal and come dangerously close to another.

The Second Special Step

For the Horde!
To continue my series in which YOU help me decide on my next WoW character, we now have to choose which Horde race to use!

You helped me decide to roll a Horde character and I sincerely want to thank everyone that voted. I'll need your help again in order to narrow down the race. In order to do that, I'll ramble on about how I feel about the Horde races.

Feel free to totally ignore everything I say and vote based on your personal preferences! As long as we get enough votes to move on to the class of the character, I'll be ecstatic!

You may be wondering why I'm choosing race before class - many WoW guides advise choosing the class you want to play and then pick the race.
